How can I help you?

ADULTS (18+)

Do you find yourself overwhelmed with anxiety ? Do you find yourself feeling trapped or sad? Do you find yourself wanting to make change(s) in your life but lack the confidence/motivation to do so? Perhaps you are having difficulties in a relationship with a partner, a family member or at work.  Maybe you feel unappreciated, undervalued and alone? I work with people just like you to address what is at the root of your feelings and find solutions. I am a highly qualified, experienced counsellor, based in Nottingham, UK; I specialise in helping people to build self-esteem, find new, healthy ways to approach relationships, and feeling good again!

As a parent/carer, you may find yourself feeling lost and powerless when it comes to supporting your child when they are struggling with their mental health. Quite often, children can become closed off, shut down and this can lead to mutual frustration that can result in a breakdown in the relationship. Being a child/young person today can be complicated and fraught with uncertainty, as young people try to understand themselves, others and the world around them whilst dealing with the added pressure of needing to fit in with peers and perform academically.

I provide young people with an environment that allows them to develop trust and a sense of security first and foremost; before being side by side with them as we explore what lies beneath their problems. I help young people to understand that their thoughts, feelings and behaviours are signposts that point them towards changes that need to be made; rather than 'problems' that need to be 'fixed'.

I am a qualified, BACP registered & fully UKCP accredited therapist. I offer one to one therapy (counselling & psychotherapy) from my practice in Nottingham. I work both face to face and online.

I have over 10 years experience in working with young people and adults (aged 16+), many of whom have had adverse and traumatic experiences in childhood. I am also experienced in working with identity, whether it be in a racial, religious, cultural, sexual or gender related context.

I am a qualified, BACP registered & fully UKCP accredited therapist. I offer one to one therapy (counselling & psychotherapy) from my practice in Nottingham. I work both face to face and online.

I operate a highly bespoke practice, and I am experienced in working with a broad range of issues such as Depression, Anxiety, Low Self-Esteem, Loss, Relationship Issues, OCD, Anger, Feeling Lost, Trauma, Sexual Violence, Abuse and identity. This list is by no means exhaustive, so please do enquire if you have further questions.

I believe that we can internalise certain aspects of our external experiences, and that these aspects are not reflective of who we are in our entirety. I am here to help clients untangle the wires of their experience, in order to help make sense of things and move forward with clarity.

Video Call

Taking that first step can be daunting, but there really is nothing to be afraid of.

If you would like to call me so that we can have a chat, simply click the 'call me' button below. If you'd prefer to make contact via email, then click the 'email me' button.

Occasionally I am unavailable to take a call due being with another client. If this happens, please leave a voicemail or a text message and I will try to return your call the same day. If for any reason you would prefer I do not contact you, please specify this when you message.

Our initial discussion whether by phone or email, is about getting to know more. What do I mean by this? It is important for me to understand what you are needing, and for you to understand what it is that I am able to offer. Once we have established whether or not we think we can work together, then we can go about setting up your first session!

If for whatever reason you or I decide that we aren't best suited for working together, I have a list of well-experienced colleagues and other agencies that I may be able to refer you to; so even in the unlikely event that we aren't able to work together, all is not lost.

Is therapy right for me?

A common misconception about therapy, is that it is only useful if you are suffering from anxiety and/or depression. The fact that you're considering therapy, more than likely means that therapy is for you and that you would gain something from it.

How long does each session last?

Typically, sessions are 50 minutes each. Longer sessions can sometimes be arranged, however this is dependent on a number of factors. If you feel you may need longer than 50 minutes, please let me know.

How many sessions
will I need?

This is perhaps the most common and yet most difficult to answer question of all. In short; it's impossible to say. It depends on many things such as what you are wanting to get from your therapy. I do recognise however, that this is an important question and in our first session we can look at how long you are able to commit to therapy, and work with that.

Are you a member of a professional organisation?

Writing a Sticky Note

What will happen during my first session?

In our first session we will set out the landscape for your therapy. We will discuss what brings you to therapy, and set some goals for your therapy as well. Each session after that will be yours to use the time to explore thoughts, feelings and any issue(s) you may be facing.

How often do I need to see you?

I see the vast majority of my clients for 50 minutes, once a week. This is ideal for consistency and is particularly useful in the early stages of therapy, as our therapeutic relationship develops. There is some room for flexibility however, as not everyone is able to commit to such regular therapy. If you are unable to commit to weekly therapy, don't be put off! Simply book a consultation and we can discuss your situation further.

How do I get started?
